Gernika Gogoratuz in its 18th International Convention on Culture and Peace invites you to share community experiences that demonstrate local capacities in Peacebuilding.
These experiences permit us to strengthen networks of activities that sustain structures of local governance in developing a Culture of Peace.
This year, under the title "Cosmopolitism and Local Peacebuilding" we hope to demonstrate various approaches to the concept of cosmopolitism, as well as its relationship to local initiatives for promoting processes of participatory democracy.
It is a desired space for open and secure dialogue. Working for this objective connects with what we call the moral imperative of right to dignity of life. This puts us exactly in the path of ethical global citizenship, nuanced by the plurality of freely shared identities.
Not to mention that we depart from our reminiscence, which redefines the identity persistently and transcends the territory, aspiring to become an alternative to the neoliberal globalisation focused on Human Development and Local Peacebuilding.
