[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]During 2018, DOCUMENTA <\/a><\/strong>– <\/strong>Center for dealing with the past, Stiftung Europa\u0308ische Jugendbildungs- und Jugendbegegnungssta\u0308tte Weimar<\/em> (EJBW<\/a>)<\/strong> and their partners implemented the project<\/span><\/span> \u201cVenues of victims \/\/ Venues of perpetrators. Mapping, decoding & processing the role of historical \u2013 civic education in (European) Youth Work<\/strong>\u201d successfully <\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

The project focused on the influences of historic-civic education on today\u2019s teachings of human rights. The programme\u00b4s goals were to promote competences of young participants in the field of historic-civic education as well as introducing them to the methods of non-formal or civic education.<\/p>\n

Due to the programme\u00b4s success a second edition is planned with the title \u201cDevelopmental dictatorships in Europe after the World War II as a topic of civic education<\/strong>\u201d and will take place in 2021\/22.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”23998″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

The preparations for the 2nd edition of this project have started. This time focusing on dictatorships after 1945 (Socialist state in Eastern Europe, Francoist dictatorship in Spain, etc.)<\/p>\n

Learning about the different forms of authoritarian governments in Europe\u00b4s post-war period, the participants will acquire the skills necessary to critically address today\u00b4s propagandistic rhetoric which is campaigning for the return of \u201cthe good old times\u201d.<\/p>\n

This way, participants will learn how to critically evaluate modern dictatorships by focusing on following key parts: political violence, propaganda and the continuous mobilisation of ideologies. Furthermore they will be introduced to civic-rights movements in their exhausting fight for a pluralist democracy and human rights.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
