He closely followed the work of Gernika Gogoratuz and, in recent years, played an active role within the research group tasked with shaping the future of the region. It has been a pleasure and an honour to share in his deep commitment, analytical skills and vision. As his words express, and as we strive to carry on his legacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA ello le he dedicado toda mi vida acad\u00e9mica hasta que, ya jubilado, y visto el estado de postraci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica de mi comarca natal, Busturialdea, y echando de menos un diagn\u00f3stico solvente, me puse a la tarea de un an\u00e1lisis macro y no sectorial, cuyos resultados me dejaron asustado, lanzando la voz de alarma con un t\u00edtulo expresivo \u201cEl declive econ\u00f3mico de Bustururialdea-Urdaibai\u201d en 2021, al que sigui\u00f3 en clave propositiva \u201cUn desarrollo econ\u00f3mico y ecosocial para Busturialdea-Urdaibai. Un plan de choque y un plan estrat\u00e9gico (2024-2035). Lo edit\u00f3 Gernika Gogoratuz, en cuyo staff asesor participo hoy en d\u00eda. Ah\u00ed me re\u00fano cada 15 d\u00edas con Jokin, Mar\u00eda, Berezi, Dubois, Andreas, Sara, Elia\u2026 y me han llevado a explorar, tambi\u00e9n, sus dimensiones ecol\u00f3gicas para casarlas con la econ\u00f3mica y lo social, lo que se refleja en ser coautor de la \u201cCarta Ecol\u00f3gica de Busturialdea-Urdaibai\u201d editada en 2025 un documento para el debate en la sociedad civil y con pretensiones de documento adaptable a m\u00e1s escalas territoriales\u201d (Zallo, Ram\u00f3n: Retrovisor y bistur\u00ed.
