[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]We welcome the fact that Gernika-Lumo City Council has become the first city in the Basque Country to sign up to the international call for support for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPAN)<\/a>. The initiative was proposed by Gernika Gogoratuz through a motion approved on 25 February 2026.<\/p>\n

TPAN is the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons: \u2018Nuclear weapons affect all of humanity, and it is the responsibility of every person to oppose the threats they pose and the absurd notion that they provide any kind of security\u2019 (ICAN<\/a>).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
