Report on curriculum reform and transitional justice. Case studies: Euskadi and Colombia. Angélica Padilla. 2022

This report draws on the experience gained by Gernika Gogoratuz in peace-building educational initiatives carried out both by the Centre itself and by its partner organisations throughout its history in the Basque Country and Colombia.

This work forms part of the research project on Curriculum Reform and Transitional Justice promoted by the Global Initiative for Justice, Truth & Reconciliation –GIJTR – which requested case studies from Sites of Conscience around the world highlighting initiatives by both government and civil society that have promoted and enhanced peace and a culture of democracy and human rights among young people through education.

It is recognised that in fractured societies that have experienced repression, violence, conflict and atrocities, histories are often highly contentious, making it necessary to develop rigorous processes of human rights education and peacebuilding.
