An economic and eco-social development for Busturialdea-Urdaibai. Ramón Zallo Elgezabal. 2024

Working document for a shock plan and a strategic plan (2024-2034)

The Gernika Gogoratuz Peace Research Center, within its lines of work on memory, peace and conflict, includes a dimension of critical thinking on alternative futures applied to social reality. To talk about peace is also to contribute to create life options. Building a peaceful society requires a way of inhabiting the territory from responsibility based on sustainable alternatives that respond to criteria of social, environmental and epistemic justice in order to move towards a good life in a good place: eutopia.

With this concern, for several years Gernika Gogoratuz has dedicated an important part of its activity to the reflection on foundations and proposals to build life alternatives in the region of Busturialdea-Urdaibai. The axis from which it approaches this reflection is to know the capacity that society has to define and build the future that it considers desirable and possible. This implies assessing the capacity to start up a collective process of its own, where the different existing interests participate, define common objectives and the strategies to achieve them.
