Gernika for Peace and Reconciliation. Joseba Gómez and Amaia Ballesteros

Gernika for Peace and Reconciliation. Joseba Gómez and Amaia Ballesteros

To contribute to peace-building and the promotion of reconciliation.

That is the primary aim of the “Gernika for Peace and Reconciliation” awards.

Two awards are presented each year: one for little-known individuals or institutions working to build a ‘grassroots peace’, and another for “visible fighters”, well-known champions of peace who have helped transform conflict into reconciliation.

The awards are sponsored by the Town Councils of Gernika-Lumo and Pforzheim, the Gernika Gogoratuz Foundation, the Casa de Cultura Foundation and the Gernika Peace Museum.

This book will discuss the male and female laureates from 2005 and 2006:

Juan Gutiérrez, Michael Kasper, the local workshops of Elkarri, 1,000 women and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
