María Oianguren, director of Gernika Gogoratuz, is chairing the youth panel at the Eurobasque summer school entitled ‘The European Union and Latin America: a strategic alliance in an unstable world’, which is taking place on 29 and 30 June at the Miramar Palace in Donostia.

This year’s programme aims to analyse and assess this new phase in EU–Latin American relations, combining legal, political and economic perspectives. It will also explore the impact and opportunities that this strategic alliance offers for the Basque Country, both in terms of economic internationalisation and technological cooperation, and in strengthening its historical and cultural ties with various Latin American countries. The course will feature experts from both regions with the aim of providing a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of one of the priority areas of the EU’s external action.
