What is Afaloste?

Afaloste is a social-gastronomic laboratory that seeks to explore – through conversation and cooking – the impact that politically motivated violence has had on our everyday lives and on the social fabric.

The Afaloste initiative is promoted by Foro Eskubidez, made up of 24 organisations from the Basque Country. It is implemented by Bakeola-EDE and Gernika Gogoratuz, with facilitation by Iñigo Retolaza.

Afaloste is also:

A space for intergenerational, plural and diverse encounters.
A time and space to reflect on the consequences of the past for our present and future lives.

Time: 19:00–22:00

Who can take part?

20–25 people will take part in each gathering. An effort will be made to maintain a balance in terms of gender and generation (across two or three generations).

The only requirement for taking part is a willingness to share personal experiences and to be open to different perspectives.
