CLOSING THE GAPS: MEMORY, PREVENTION AND SOCIAL COHESION IN EUROPE

Iñigo Retolaza took part in the conference «Closing the Gaps: Memory, Prevention and Social Cohesion in Europe», held in Sarajevo on 24 and 25 March.

The event brought together civil society actors, grassroots organisations, academics and policy-makers to critically analyse why the promise of “never again” following the Second World War has not translated into effective mechanisms for the prevention of violence. It was organised by the Catalan International Institute for Peace (ICIP), together with the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience and the War Childhood Museum.

He is a contributor to Gernika Gogoratuz and a facilitator for the MemoriaLab programme “Spaces for the social construction of memory”, as well as coordinator of the dialogue space Afaloste. Coexistence al pil-pil. Gastronomic-Social Laboratory.
