GERNIKA GOGORATUZ PRESENTS THE GUIDE FOR LOCAL AGENDAS FOR PEACE AND DECENTRALISED COOPERATION

The Guide for local agendas for peace and decentralised cooperation. Guidelines for strengthening local peace policies, prepared by Gernika Gogoratuz will be presented in Barcelona on 12 March.

The publication has been carried out by Jokin Alberdi, president of Gernika Gogoratuz, and Tica Font, researcher at the Delàs Centre for Peace Studies. The guide was also supported by María Oianguren, director, and Liliana Zambrano-Quintero, researcher at Gernika Gogoratuz, with the collaboration of the Institut Català per la Pau (ICIP).

This study has been carried out by the Barcelona Provincial Council’s EU-Latin America Decentralised Cooperation Observatory to ascertain the state of the art of decentralised cooperation and peace initiatives in order to identify their potential, possible shortcomings and to make progress in the reflection and proposals for strengthening peace agendas within decentralised cooperation policies.

The results of the guide highlight the few current experiences and the broad scope and impact that decentralised cooperation can have on territorial peacebuilding.
