Derechos y Ciudadanía ante un mundo en crisis

RIGHTS AND CITIZENSHIP IN A WORLD IN CRISIS

Liliana Zambrano Quintero, a researcher at the Gernika Gogoratuz Peace Research Centre, will present the paper “Women and food systems: sustaining life, weaving peace” as part of the University of the Basque Country’s (EHU) summer course “Rights and Citizenship in a World in Crisis”, to be held on 25 June at the Miramar Palace in San Sebastián.

This conference highlights the decisive role of women in the sustainability of food systems in contexts of war and crisis. Drawing on community practice, memory, culture and care, it will analyse how women sustain daily life and drive processes of resilience and social transformation. It will reflect on how to integrate a feminist approach into food security policies and peace-building processes.
